EMALIE ENDSLEY, RNC, MEd, MSN, FNP

Emalie was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and Northeast Mississippi. She obtained both a bachelor and masters degree in Business Education from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi.

After moving to Arkansas to teach, she then married. Upon her husband's transfer to Louisiana, she began taking prerequisite courses in order to enter nursing school. Nursing was always her passion from an early age, and she knew that caring for others was where her heart needed to be.

In the summer of 1980, they moved to Lubbock. She later obtained a nursing diploma, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing, and became a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

As a nurse, she first went to work for Methodist Hospital—now Covenant Medical Center. She worked in the areas of pediatrics, nursery, post-partum, and the coronary care unit. She also served as relief charge nurse while employed on post-partum. She later transferred to Methodist Hospital School of Nursing—now Covenant School of Nursing and taught critical care and psychiatric nursing. She also taught nursing fundamentals, critical care nursing, and assisted with psychiatric clinical nursing while employed at South Plains College.

While working toward becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a home health nurse caring for many elderly patients. Many times, family members were at home when the patient visit was made. This gave Emalie an opportunity to teach valuable information to both the patient and the family in a caring, loving manner.

Upon completion of nurse practitioner school, Emalie worked for Fawwaz Shoukfeh, M.D. and Robert J. Wey, M.D. in the area of cardiology and for Mike Rice, M.D., Ph.D. in internal medicine treating both adult and elderly patients.

For the last three years she had been employed part-time for Free First Health Clinic, an on-site/work-based clinic. Since fall, 2008 until recently joining Senior Medical Solutions, she had been the only provider employed at that clinic.

For the past five years Emalie has been employed in a part-time capacity as a nurse practitioner with Physicians Network Association traveling to detention centers to care for the medical needs of inmates who are there under the auspices of the county jail or federal prison system.

She has two sons—Brad, who is 28 and Brent , who is 23. She also has two grandchildren—Gavin is 5 and Conner is 4.

YVONNE VASQUEZ, LVN

Yvonne was born in Lubbock and is the oldest of her two siblings, one sister and a brother. She lived in San Diego, California for four years while her father was stationed in Japan before moving back to Lubbock with her family.

She has always had a passion for caring for other people; therefore, she knew she wanted to be a nurse at an early age. She attended Estacado High School's Medical Magnet Program where she was certified as a certified nurse aide at age 16.

After graduating from high school in 1996, Yvonne attended South Plains College majoring in nursing and took a course in phlebotomy there as well. She graduated from South Plains College in 2004 after setting aside her education in order to start a family.

Yvonne began her nursing career at Covenant Medical Center working on renal telemetry, later working for Dr. Larry Warmoth, a nephrologist, at the Kidney Center of West Texas.

After a brief move to Hobbs, New Mexico, Yvonne has moved back to Lubbbock to continue to persue her nursing career and care for her family. She has three beautiful children—a son, Giovanni 13 and two daughters Zeta 9 and Kyrah 6.
